NPR nearly DOA

This guy has some guts. From what I can tell, he still works there. At least he did up until now but will likely be soon looking for a new gig for having an opinion. However, it is a fascinating read on how the fog lifted for him and how he tried (in vain) to address it.

Uri Berliner, a veteran at the public radio institution, says the network lost its way when it started telling listeners how to think.

“It’s true NPR has always had a liberal bent, but during most of my tenure here, an open-minded, curious culture prevailed. We were nerdy, but not knee-jerk, activist, or scolding.

In recent years, however, that has changed. Today, those who listen to NPR or read its coverage online find something different: the distilled worldview of a very small segment of the U.S. population.”

My beef is with those who followed a similar path but refuse to reflect on that journey or what it has done to this country, the media and society in general. I’ve sensed a growing segment of this crowd realizing their mistake and falling silent but there are still those doubling down and launching more salvos from their echo chambers. Thankfully, those salvos are increasingly falling a deaf ears.

This response sums it up well:

Incredible View!

Going out on a limb here but guessing she is too stupid to be embarrassed by that statement. But keep on clapping along you trained seals and those regularly tuning in. Your Oracle has spoken and you all can be once again amazed at her sheer brilliance.

1st Amendment Attack

And here we have yet another conspiracy theory come to life.

What is never emphasized in this case is those that are pushing for controlling speech (on the basis of an emergency), are the very ones who got it completely wrong. They cancelled many truths and replaced with their own misinformation – at great damage to our society and country. That ALONE should be justification to end this case (in my view). Why is that never raised? Instead, we are arguing whether they can continue to do so with no regard to their track record.

  • The censorship in Murthy suppressed speech that was not criminal or otherwise unlawful, and the injunction specifically excludes government action against unlawful speech.
  • The government set itself up as the nation’s arbiter of truth—as if it were competent to judge what is misinformation and what is true information. In retrospect, it turns out to have suppressed much that was true and promoted much that was false.
  • The government went after lawful speech not in an isolated instance, but repeatedly and systematically as a matter of policy, resulting in the suppression of entire narratives and lines of thought.
  • This isn’t jawboning. Rather than talk to newspapers about their own speech, the government asked the platforms to suppress third party speech. If the government were merely jawboning, it would have talked to the censored speakers, asking them to reconsider their posts. Instead, it requested the platforms to suppress the speech of others.
  • The government kept much of the censorship and its role secret, so Americans often did not even know they were censored or who did it. The covert nature of the government’s efforts bespeaks a recognition that the government was acting unlawfully.
  • The government often suppressed speech coercively.

Meatheads Bloodbath

Archie Bunker knew what he was talking about.

I’ve never been much of a fan of twitter (X). However, it seems that every visit is an endless stream of leftist gaslighting (even though I do not follow any of those posting these toxic fumes). The saving grace is every post is inundated with 99% of the replies calling them out on their misinformation.

MSM is no better.

So, for those of you that STILL get your opinions from The View, Kimmel or Colbert, here is the context they won’t tell you.

Apparently, it is using the term “bloodbath” that is setting them off.

Really?

As I often respond, fewer and fewer are believing their BS anymore and every time they try something like this, they only manage to increase Trumps lead as those newly awakened souls emerge from their echo chambers alarmed at the level of gaslighting they have been subjected to. Hence, the record mistrust and rejection of the MSM. I always end my responses with a polite request to keep it up as it is doing wonders educating the public.

THE RACE – None of the above

Sadly, we have 2 BAD choices:

  • A loudmouth, arrogant narcissist facing mutiple criminal charges who presided over a strong job market, no new foreign military adventures, tax cuts, energy independence, and foreign adversaries held at bay in puzzlement over his tough exterior and unpredictability
    -or-
  • An even more unlikable, older senior who shuffles, mumbles and forgets, who ignited the invisible tax of historic inflation by wild spending, opened the border to an invasion of more than 9.2 million illegal aliens, killed energy independence, had no response to Russia aggression downing a U.S. drone in international air space and a Chinese espionage balloon traversing across the entire country. And whose family faces documented questions about suspicious money transfers of large sums to them from China, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Russia etc.

If it were up to me, my choice would be the option that trounced Haley in Nevada – “none of the above”. But, to make such a non-choice would be extremely dangerous to our democracy. (Where have I heard that before?).

I’ve been schooled that the decision should be based on morality by one who supports backing a hair sniffing pedophile who frequently creeps out young girls, sexually assaulted his aid when he was in the senate, inappropriately showered with his young daughter, thoroughly messed up the minds and lives of his children and endorses the murder of countless innocent lives right up until they are born.

For my take (yes, I am allowed that here), I will go on record to state that (just as I did in 2019), that 77 is too old to be going into office and this time Trump has reached that milestone. He’s also beginning to show signs of deterioration so my hope is he picks a rock solid VP that can and will be effective when called upon because it may be sooner than we think (beyond the seditious games the left will immediately initiate before he even takes office).

In the meantime, I fully expect or better yet DEMAND that Trump immediately rectify the several years of blatant corruption we’ve been through. As much as he irritates me, he’s the only one who can assure that justice is done and all these crooks are held accountable for knocking this country completely off the rails. Although paying for their crimes should be part of the solution, exposing them for all to see is of utmost importance for there to be any healing.

They know it and the resulting PANIC is obvious. The trouble is, the more apparent it becomes, the more desperate THEY will become so expect anything to impose martial law along with a suspended election, or they’ll just take him out Epstein style. I think any of those scenarios will light the fuse to their demise in a way that this country may never recover from.

However, what’s likely going to interfere with their plans is Chinese aggression towards Taiwan. For the more it appears Trump will win, the more likely China will act before he takes office as Biden will be helpless and clueless to stop it. So, expect some movement there before November – likely this summer.

It’s more than the economy stupid!

Yes, the disastrous economy is showing minimal signs of improvement, albeit much too slowly to be reflected in our wallets. But, the precipitous fall to this point opened up many eyes to many other disastrous policies that are now greatly impacting our lives.

This sums it up those feelings rather well.

“Biden, who never was much of a political salesman even in his prime, has shown he’s utterly incapable of driving home his administration’s message. Over three-quarters of Americans (76 percent) now have major or moderate concerns that Biden doesn’t have the mental and physical health for a second term, according to the NBC poll“.

Bad weekend for Brandon.

I’m still trying to figure out what catch phrase they are going to come up with to spin the past few days disasters. All I see so far is more gaslighting that “everyone forgets a name occasionally”, Mumbles just showed “he is human”, while trying to convince folks that “he is one of the sharpest knives in the drawer” and he works late into the evening each and every day.
Again, no one is buying that anymore with the latest poll (ABC News/Ipsos) reporting 86% agreeing he is no longer fit for office. His coming out and confirming that perception didn’t help matters any. Skipping the softball Super Bowl interview only re-confirmed it.

But, it’s a fine line to walk between declaring yourself competent, when that would mean you should be liable for charges that you skated away from because you were deemed not competent.

I guess the positive aspect of this is that he finally fulfilled a campaign promise and unified the nation. 86% is about as unified as it can get.

Media & Misinformation

Since the last thread on this topic was once again hijacked, I’ve created another to actually address this topic. The previous thread turned into another sprawling mess that I hope to condense and clean up – eventually.

While the media is now warning us to only get the news from THEM (and to NOT do your own research), others are trumpeting to DO your own research, but only from valid, accredited and vetted sources. The problem with this argument is you’re only getting HALF of the story, and that “vetting” has repeatedly failed them as they consistently end up on the wrong side of the story when the facts eventually emerge.

My take has always been to REMEMBER what the source has stated before to determine if they are credible going forward. However, when you see/hear nearly ALL the established media repeating the exact same script (word-for-word), you really wonder what their motives are and who is distributing the scripts that they all follow. When you hear them all echoing the exact same thing, you can be sure there is no longer any independent investigation happening and they are all simply reinforcing the narrative (aka propaganda).

It certainly reinforces the news we see lately where legacy media is crashing with failing revenues and viewership, while independent sources are rocketing to the top and thriving.

Because for an industry that owes its existence to the trust of its readers and viewers, most of news media decided instead to play the arrogance card and take advantage of that trust.

Rather than being merely the observer and then objective reporter of what’s happening on the field, today’s journalists got the bizarre idea (from who knows where) that they are as good or even better than the actual players and thus inserted themselves in the game. This despite the fact that no one actually wanted to see them on the field”.

I will admit that this can be extremely dangerous to our democracy as many independent sources lack the standards to research and verify their sources and only exist to reinforce their views. However, as we learned from the Hunter laptop story, the alternative is those striving to control every aspect of our lives taking over to decide what is truth and those with memories can easily recall how well that worked out.

Biden’s AI plan to censor you revealed: Researchers say Americans can’t ‘tell fact from fiction’

one researcher told NSF officials “broad swaths of the public cannot effectively sort truth from fiction online.” The researcher specifically called out “military veterans, older adults, military families” and those in “rural and indigenous communities” as particularly vulnerable to believing misinformation.”

Hmmm. They left out those put on watch lists for the unforgivable action of purchasing a bible.

Once again, I emphasize having some recall:

  • What was reported and by whom?
  • What happened to opposing views?
  • After the facts eventually emerged, which position was correct?

The cabal behind the new measures above already tried the “Disinformation Governance Board” which was soundly rejected so have now relabeled it as the “Trust & Authenticity in Communication Systems”.

As always, such efforts show contempt for the American people. They claim Americans could not tell fact from fiction online and that conservatives were even more susceptible than the public at large.

Americans are too stupid to distinguish truth from lies on their own, so they need benevolent leftists to handle everything so that we poor unwashed need not trouble our empty heads over matters that are too hard for us to understand.

Not surprising. These are much the same arguments I’ve had from visitors to this site. They all share the trait of waking up to a new history every day with no acknowledgement of what has gone down in the past.

And here is the latest example. Remember all of the hoopla last week about the amazing “jobs created”? No one mentions the numbers are always inflated upon release but then are ALWAYS quietly downgraded in the following weeks. The rosy January report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics is already crashing.

However, once again, a truth emerges that you won’t see reported in the MSM.

“Birth/Death assumptions” means just that. The BLS assumes that so many jobs were created or destroyed and (kind of) fixes the imaginary numbers when the real data come in. Now you know why jobs always seem to get revised downward. Seeking Alpha adds that “many believe the Household survey is a more accurate measure of employment when compared to the headline number.”

https://seekingalpha.com/article/4667443-jobs-household-survey-continues-come-in-lower-than-bls-report

What is becoming painfully obvious to these bad actors is they have lost their grip on shaping public opinion. Of course there are still some who will blindly ignore the blatant transgressions of the past several years, but the vast majority of their support has simply fallen silent and melted away.

So instead, they are forced to play the only card they have remaining by once again censoring any opinion that contradicts the approved narrative.

With so many now getting their news from independent sources, I don’t understand how they think this is going to work.
