Extremely Poor Execution

Since the Cheney “execution” is the latest kerfuffle to be flung against the wall, in the desperate hope that something will stick, here is a little more detail.
This interview with Tucker Carlson kicked it off:

Which of course, generated many comments and headlines like the following:

I guess this would be the 1st execution where the victim was ALSO armed.
Maybe make it a pay-per-view blockbuster!

Luckily, reason prevails.

But, I know and am related to some who will echo this BS. It is very easy to digest the message if you are not afflicted with TDS.

Trump was calling out the warmongers. He didn’t say anything about a firing squad or being executed, but they throw that in there anyway.

I could set them straight, but they’d never listen so I’ll let some fellow leftists douse their desire for violence.

From Glen Greenwald:
This is one of the most pathetic media lies about Trump in awhile, and that’s saying a lot.Trump was making the valid — and important — point that, like many in DC, Liz Cheney is a maniacal warmonger because it’s never her or her dad that endures the horrors of war.

From Never-Trumper Joe Walsh:
Trump did NOT call for Liz Cheney to be executed. This is what’s so wrong with our politics today. Look, you know how I feel about Trump, and I’ve been out there every day for 2-3 months campaigning my ass off to help get KamalaHarris elected, but this short clip is so deceptive. Trump is NOT calling for Liz Cheney to be executed in front of a firing line. He’s not. Listen to the entirety of what he said. In Trump’s typically stupid, ugly fashion, he’s trying to make a point about Cheney’s stance on war. But Aaron (who I like & respect), by posting ONLY this 11 second clip, makes it look like he’s calling for her to be executed. He’s not. He’s an utterly horrible human being who’s utterly unfit for office, but the truth should always matter. And the truth is that Trump is not calling for Liz Cheney to be executed. But…this 11 second clip will have a gazillion views, and the truth will have just a handful of views.

From Vox’s Zach Beauchamp:
Folks, Trump didn’t threaten to execute Liz Cheney. He actually was calling her a chickenhawk, something liberals said about her for ages. Look at the context — Trump is talking about giving her a weapon. Typically, people put in front of firing squads aren’t armed.

From the Free Press’ Kat Rosenfeld:
I don’t support Donald Trump but I also don’t support journalists lying to their audiences, and when he says (paraphrased) “these pro-war people wouldn’t be talking such a big game if they were on the front lines” it is actually not the same thing as saying they should be shot

But the response that wins the grand prize is…

So there you are. Another week and another round of incidents that were terribly handled with more deception and ONLY managed to increase Trumps lead – now leading all swing states, as well as the popular vote. Fine job TDS crowd!!!!!

I agree with Joe Walsh’s assessment…Including the line about “He’s an utterly horrible human being who’s utterly unfit for office,” but like always, you fixate on irrelevant details vs. the overall (deplorable, unstable) character of the man.

Okay, now defend/justify him mimicking oral sex at yesterday’s rally… And before you try to blame it on the mic problem, I’ve already noted that the mic was in the other hand when he was doing his Deep Throat exercises… Okay, now go!

WTF Bill! “9 barrels shooting at her” sounds like a firing squad to me, but once again, because trump is capable of uttering a coherent thought, his interpreters had to step in to say what he MEANT to say. He’s a loose cannon and his mouth and will continue to get him into trouble.

But enough about his execution remarks. What I’m really interested in is YOUR reaction to trump simulating oral sex with the microphone. I’m sitting back waiting for his interpreters to explain this one. If you tell me it’s not a big deal and character doesn’t matter, you can write me off. Do you admit he went over the line? I think he went over so far that his minions (the ones with at least half a brain) will welcome the privacy of the voting booth on Tuesday.

“9 barrels shooting at her” sounds like a firing squad to me – tells me you refuse to watch the actual video. Those leftists calling it out are not his interpreters – far from it. They are just reasonable enough (on this matter) to be able to comprehend that the statement was about her warhawk stance that would change if she was on the battlefield.

Again, how many firing squads issue a rifle to the recipient?

It’s just another example of why you constantly need to revert back to BS to make your point, and is why no one is buying that BS anymore except for the TDS-afflicted like yourself.

Which brings me to your horror at Trump’s microphone malfunction that you both reported as an overt sex act. It’s no surprise that pretty much no one shares your horror. And is why I spent way too much time even trying to find out what the hell you were talking about. However, I finally stumbled upon the clip that showed Trump being frustrated so he bent down to speak into a microphone that wasn’t there. It was a malfunction, he was pissed – and is exactly how most of ALL media reported it. However, it seems that only those suffering terminal TDS feel the need to transcend this into an overt sex act. I can’t even fathom Beevis and Butthead attempting that action there. What would be gained? It’s not funny, wouldn’t insult anybody and would serve absolutely no purpose whatsoever. Is it because you believe those actions should only be shared in elementary schools?

As far as writing you off, that ship sailed years ago when we were mandated to state our positions. You recently stated your disgust was due to J6. That of course requires that we all disregard 4 years of “not my president”, beginning with “believe all women” – (unless they are named Tara or Ashley) that only confirmed your hypocrisy.

Yes, PLEASE, write me off. I cannot fathom why you continue to return here. We could continue to have a cordial relationship. But, you seem to INSIST everyone shares your views. And this is occurring on a site that has very few visitors and only exists so I can unload (my mind) occasionally.

Why do you both keep returning here?

Also, let me educate you on why Trump’s many verbal gaffes should disqualify him for presidency. I agree that he may not have been talking about a firing squad, but SCORES of people interpreted his statement that way. Now, let’s throw language translation into the mix. Are you familiar with what happened in WWII with the Potsdam Declaration? In July 1945, the Allied powers issued this ultimatum to Japan, warning of “prompt and utter destruction” if Japan didn’t surrender unconditionally. When Japanese officials discussed the declaration, Prime Minister Kantarō Suzuki responded with the word “mokusatsu,” a Japanese term meaning “to ignore” or “to treat with silent contempt.”

This word, however, has multiple interpretations, and the Allies took it as outright rejection. While Suzuki may have intended it to mean that Japan was still deliberating, the U.S. interpreted it as a refusal to surrender. This misunderstanding contributed to the decision to proceed with the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6 and 9, 1945.

If you’re interested in reading more, Japan’s Decision to Surrender by Robert J.C. Butow provides a detailed account, and Hiroshima by John Hersey offers a compelling narrative on the bomb’s impact.

Now, imagine a similar situation where Trump is threatening a foreign adversary. His tendency to shoot off his mouth (and the resulting word vomit that inevitably results) could literally propel us into WWIII. Just one of the MANY reasons that any reputable national security expert cautions against voting for him.

This is just one of the many things that we liberal elites learn when we go to college. Oh, but you know more because you “do your own research.”

Lastly, I love the way you say Trump wouldn’t have been mimicking oral sex because, “It’s not funny, wouldn’t insult anybody and would serve absolutely no purpose whatsoever. ” You’re basically admitting that his main motivation in speaking is to insult people! And that’s your idol? That’s who you are voting for as a Christian? How utterly pathetic!

As long as you continue to post your idiotic rants publicly, I will comment on them. Why? Because they’re embarrassing, and I want to show that your views are not representative of the Goodmans as a whole. Whether you choose to post my comments or not is up to you. (I know the typical butt-hurt MAGA snowflake has a low tolerance for opposing views that also happen to be rooted in facts, you can decide whether or not that describes you.)

You have not written a single thing that has been backed up with legitimate data or interpreted through a Christian lens of loving your neighbor. Meanwhile, I’m volunteering to work a 14-hour day tomorrow to ensure that everyone who has the right to vote is able to do so, free from MAGA intimidation (even though there have been a number of threats–all from your fellow cult members–of violence). I believe in our democracy and if I am judged for defending my neighbor (as Christ defines my neighbor), at least I know I’m on the right side of history and Christianity. Can you say the same?

If Trump legitimately wins, then you will never have to worry about hearing from me again as I hunker down and weather life under a fascist dictatorship. I don’t expect that to happen, but sometimes people forget the lessons of history and this could be one of those times.

However, if everything goes the way I expect (Harris wins, Trump claims victory, small skirmishes of violence break out but are quickly squashed), then I will happily resume cordial interactions with any MAGA-supporting acquaintances or family, with that lovely “told you so” hanging in the air.
