Glancing out the front door last night, I saw a “shape” out in the driveway in front of the garage. Knowing the dogs were inside, I thought it was a stray so was ready to chase it off when I saw it turn a bit and take a few steps. There was no doubt what it was – a PIG! Before I could grab a light and have a closer look, it meandered down the hill behind the garage and disappeared into the pasture.
This morning, I went out to take a closer look and saw many prints around the firepit but the ground wasn’t disturbed so it’s doubtful an entire sounder of ferals was wandering through and was more likely a domestic that got loose. I believe the Amish neighbor across the road has a few pigs so will ask him about it.
Regardless, reading up on it, feral pigs/hogs are quite a problem in Missouri and many other states. A farmer friend a few miles up the road had quite a problem with them and had the conservation department come to run them off. Even though they are considered pests and invasive nuisances, they recommend NOT shooting them as that action is detrimental to the goal of eliminating the whole group.
It’s an interesting read and likely something we’ll have to deal with sometime in the future so it never hurts to be ready. I thought it would be interesting to set up a few trail cameras anyway – just to see what wonders by.
Back when we graduated High School, I helped a friend (Martin) “process” a pig that he raised for a pig roast at his grad party. I wish I would have paid better attention back then. My only “processing” so far has been a single rooster and is something I’ll need to work on. But, I’m sure those chances to improve those skills will come soon enough.
Since the last thread on this topic was once again hijacked, I’ve created another to actually address this topic. The previous thread turned into another sprawling mess that I hope to condense and clean up – eventually.
While the media is now warning us to only get the news from THEM (and to NOT do your own research), others are trumpeting to DO your own research, but only from valid, accredited and vetted sources. The problem with this argument is you’re only getting HALF of the story, and that “vetting” has repeatedly failed them as they consistently end up on the wrong side of the story when the facts eventually emerge.
My take has always been to REMEMBER what the source has stated before to determine if they are credible going forward. However, when you see/hear nearly ALL the established media repeating the exact same script (word-for-word), you really wonder what their motives are and who is distributing the scripts that they all follow. When you hear them all echoing the exact same thing, you can be sure there is no longer any independent investigation happening and they are all simply reinforcing the narrative (aka propaganda).

It certainly reinforces the news we see lately where legacy media is crashing with failing revenues and viewership, while independent sources are rocketing to the top and thriving.

I will admit that this can be extremely dangerous to our democracy as many independent sources lack the standards to research and verify their sources and only exist to reinforce their views. However, as we learned from the Hunter laptop story, the alternative is those striving to control every aspect of our lives taking over to decide what is truth and those with memories can easily recall how well that worked out.

Hmmm. They left out those put on watch lists for the unforgivable action of purchasing a bible.
Once again, I emphasize having some recall:
What was reported and by whom?
What happened to opposing views?
After the facts eventually emerged, which position was correct?
The cabal behind the new measures above already tried the “Disinformation Governance Board” which was soundly rejected so have now relabeled it as the “Trust & Authenticity in Communication Systems”.
As always, such efforts show contempt for the American people. They claim Americans could not tell fact from fiction online and that conservatives were even more susceptible than the public at large.
Americans are too stupid to distinguish truth from lies on their own, so they need benevolent leftists to handle everything so that we poor unwashed need not trouble our empty heads over matters that are too hard for us to understand.
Not surprising. These are much the same arguments I’ve had from visitors to this site. They all share the trait of waking up to a new history every day with no acknowledgement of what has gone down in the past.
And here is the latest example. Remember all of the hoopla last week about the amazing “jobs created”? No one mentions the numbers are always inflated upon release but then are ALWAYS quietly downgraded in the following weeks. The rosy January report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics is already crashing.
However, once again, a truth emerges that you won’t see reported in the MSM.
“Birth/Death assumptions” means just that. The BLS assumes that so many jobs were created or destroyed and (kind of) fixes the imaginary numbers when the real data come in. Now you know why jobs always seem to get revised downward. Seeking Alpha adds that “many believe the Household survey is a more accurate measure of employment when compared to the headline number.”
What is becoming painfully obvious to these bad actors is they have lost their grip on shaping public opinion. Of course there are still some who will blindly ignore the blatant transgressions of the past several years, but the vast majority of their support has simply fallen silent and melted away.
So instead, they are forced to play the only card they have remaining by once again censoring any opinion that contradicts the approved narrative.

With so many now getting their news from independent sources, I don’t understand how they think this is going to work.
UPDATE 11/2/2024 Since we are now 4 days out from the election, let’s review where we are at on this topic. The amount of BS spewed out has been nothing but phenomenal, but thankfully, NO ONE is listening to them anymore as their audience dries up and their “journalists” flee the sinking ship.

I am often confronted by those unwilling to acknowledge the video we weren’t supposed to see regarding the “INSURRECTION‘ on 1/6. They are usually the ones still claiming that 4 police officers were killed that day and all the unarmed folks taking selfies inside were trying to overthrow the government.
Being tired of those who cannot allow themselves to seek out any truth that may contradict what they were told to be the truth, the exchange below was an attempt to set the record straight FROM MY POINT OF VIEW. You can agree or not, but I pity you if you digest this and STILL remain so misled.
The accusation that started this by putting words in my mouth that I did NOT say:
What proof of disinformation are you referring to? The J6 Committee? More on that below. Also, what sources would those be? I never referenced any sources. I figured out in a few days (by watching all media) what the J6 Committee needed 18 months of investigation, 7 months of litigation, 1,000 witnesses and subpoenas of 100 individuals to get WRONG at a cost to the taxpayers of upwards of forty million dollars.

These were my thoughts 4 days after the event! As I deduced back then, thousands of Trump backers played right into their hands and was a colossal mistake we all pay for, as the nation crumbles. It was all just TOO SCRIPTED.
Did you look up John Earl Sullivan yet? It’s been 3 years now and you seem to still be unaware of him. He actually filmed himself doing exactly that (agitating). The other most notable name was Ray Epps. He was captured in several videos yelling for everyone to “go inside, we have to go inside” and was also found to be at many of the points where barriers were broken. I am sure all of those previous misinformation factories you rely on (Politifact? Really?) still deny he did anything but multiple sources now confirm it. For all that documented activity, what did he get? 6 months? While grandmas gets 10 years in prison if they were lucky enough to even go to trial, as many haven’t, in clear violation of the 6th amendment.
Then, we hear that the FBI was likely involved. Estimates range from 100-400 were undercover. The pipe bombs mysteriously appearing in the most surveilled place on earth? Also, now being suspected as being placed by the FBI.
Yes. They literally used a bright metallic pipe with an affixed timer so there would be no confusion. We’ll see where that goes but you have to wonder how they managed to find and jail so many who never even went inside (or walked through open doors held open by the police) but can’t find that suspect after 3 years.
The J6 Committee tried their best to pick and choose the slices of video that amplified their narrative and hid everything that didn’t. They might have succeeded if left at that. However, then the videoswe weren’t supposed to see were released that blew it all wide open and pretty much confirms everything I said 3 years ago. TOO SCRIPTED.
The most damning (to me) was the Capitol police on the balcony firing chemicals, rubber bullets and paint balls into the (at that time) peaceful crowd below with one of them remarking that the folks down below are getting enraged and a few more shots will likely get them to charge. Another officer remarked on body cam footage that they were set up (to fail) by those in charge as the usual methods and protocols they use for crowd control were mysteriously not used that day. As I said 3 years ago. TOO SCRIPTED.
It seems like you haven’t seen any of it so I’d suggest you go through it. I’ve seen many of the videos we weren’t supposed to see but this one lays it out in a chronological timeline of ALL the video taken that day including police bodycam footage and from cell phones in the crowd. Of course, you’ll dismiss it entirely simply because one of the J6 protesters initiated it. Just a deep fake, right?
It clearly shows that JUST when congress was about to address arguments against certification (just like Hillary orchestrated in 2017 before the Russian Collusion hoax surfaced), the doors were suddenly flung open and the “insurrectionists” were escorted into the building by the police so the proceedings could be halted for maximum effect. TOO SCRIPTED.
We even get a video of Pelosi doing a “retake” of her reaction to it when her daughters film crew (mysteriously there filming the events of the day) decided that the 1st take wasn’t dramatic enough. TOO SCRIPTED.
But this is where you’ll accuse me of going off the deep end, put your fingers in your ears and chant “nah-nah-nah-nah” by refusing to see what everyone else has seen. I guess that is all deep fake stuff in your world.
Frankly, it doesn’t matter. Even if you refuse to even try to find the truth, thankfully most everyone else has woken up. So, every statement, every policy, every action this administration tries now only alienates them more from the people they demand to control, AND strengthens the opposition as a result.
I remember being derided as “gone off the deep end” when this story first broke.
First, it was debunked as Russian misinformation, backed by 51 intelligence officials, who knowingly signed their names to a blatant lie.
Then, when some of it was confirmed, it morphed into Mumbles McGoo wasn’t aware at any point (THAT’s believable anyway).
Then, it evolved into M&M was aware but was never involved and never met with any of Hunters clients.
Then it was, OK, he might have talked on the phone with some but never met with any of the clients.
Soon after that was shredded, he met with some of the clients but they never discussed business.
Then, M&M may have discussed business but he never received any payments from that business.
Then, when the payments were confirmed, we were told they were loan repayments, yet never presented any documentation on those loans.
Finally, we are circling back to Russian disinformation
and if that doesn’t work, it’s decided it was just NO BIG DEAL.
Now, weigh ALL THAT against the video below.
Just THINK of the ramifications of that single, solitary story – all covered up, censored and kept from the public immediately before a presidential election.

FB Marketplace used to be legit. Actually, the listings are pretty straightforward but now I see shysters able to leverage FB posing as a sponsored ad. Again, Facebook does nothing after reporting them multiple times.
And now, with AI running the show, the fraud is completely automated. Much like my week long dialog with the Nigerian scammer years ago, this exchange below was initiated by opening a FB “sponsored” ad, which opened a Messenger window instead of showing the advertised item as expected. Unlike the scammer of years ago, AI gets right to the point so it’s impossible to drag it out. I knew going in that they were frauds because their related website was just registered, the address listed was a shopping mall with no signs of the locations shown on that site and their prices were about 1/3 of what they should be so my game was to physically see the item they advertised.

I see the guardians of misinformation at Facebook are hard at it today. I’m seeing these about every other post now. Some are 5 in a row, interspersed with the usual stream of fraudulent ads. My FB feed should be close to empty with so many friends dying tragically.
I should get back into the PC repair/restore business but I think I’d rather continue scraping chicken poop off my boots on a daily basis.
So remember, if you fall victim to this by clicking on it:
You’ll get a bogus pop up that your PC has been infected and the only way to clear it is to pay them to fix it. Do NOT call the number as they will only extort money from you to download and execute a file to “fix” your PC but will render it useless.
Instead, simply Ctrl+Alt+Delete, to bring up the Task Manager, find your browser (Chrome, Brave, Bing etc.) process and kill it (force it closed). Then reboot. It wouldn’t hurt to run a virus scan.
I hope everyone remembers this the next time they slap a label on your post reporting the actual truth. We’ve seen plenty already.
Me and Ted Kazinski have a few similarities, besides wearing hoodies. But, rather than compile everything into one massive written out “manifesto”, I prefer to let my rants out a little bit at a time, as it applies to what is happening around us today. With so few participants here (at least at launch time), I DO fully realize I am ranting to myself. But, here’s why I proceed anyway.
As stated by many, writing, by just getting the words out and put down somewhere, clears my mind and helps me sleep at night.
Like (too many) others, I notice some memory decay as I limp towards those senior years. Nothing big yet, just forgetting where I put something or how I did something the last time so getting much of these notes down also documents what I’ve done and how I did it so I don’t need to reinvent the wheel each and every time.
As you’ll notice, my posts tend to be “brain dumps” of that moment in time (like THIS one!). Once, I start on a topic, I tend to dump everything I know into it and always end up with TMI. That’s why I’ll typically start these with a headline and some major points, save it as a draft and return later to fill it in. After completion, I’ll leave it as a draft while I re-read and edit it down again and again to something digestible.
I fully know that some of these topics may be entirely NOT interesting to most but there’s always a few other geeks who may have a comment or 2, based on their experience. I’m not an expert at any of this but am always willing to try anything new, and realize most of what is learned is either by trial and error or by helpful advice. I prefer the latter. At least I’ll try to keep the headlines descriptive enough to know if it is worth your time.
I am also realizing that my vision here started off foolishly as a showcase of everything we have and where you’ll find it. Rather than tax our dogs and security systems, I had to revisit everything and separate the general overall tour pics for all visitors, with some of the more revealing stuff moved behind some barriers so we can somewhat control who sees what.
Maybe, just maybe, this organically grows into something that promotes conversation – rather than stifling it. Or, assists in healing, rather than more division.
At the very least, you can find out how many eggs we are getting each day (now at a dozen+). If nothing else, we’ll have plenty of ammunition (eggs) to fend off the politicians this year 😉
