This MSNBC hack just denied there is rampant shoplifting happening with stores closing as a result. It’s amazing they think we all adhere to their every word and there is no internet to expose the truth.
The sad thing is, I know some MSNBC fans who will STILL believe everything they say – even when it is later proven to be BS.
Thankfully, the replies to this tweet thoroughly shreds her response. Go see for yourself but you are instructed to NOT believe what you see. Their last resort will be to claim it is AI or a deep fake as they’ve already planted those seeds by blocking the HUR tapes, even though they’ve already released the transcripts.
UPDATE: 6/10/2024
And for the self appointed media experts out there (comments below), be sure to click on Stephanie Ruhles‘s tweet (which would be about the top 1″ of the post above) since her denial is the point of this post and is where counterpoints flow freely. Below that leads to Acyn’s posts, which has no such rebuttals.
Now, that you’ve learned how to navigate, proceed with your “it’s all AI!” claims.
Clearly, these are not ACs and there aren’t 500 of them so they can be ignored.
UPDATE: 6/12/2024

So much for the standard excuse that ACs are much too big and heavy to be shoplifted. I think those people need to exercise more if this is such a herculean task to complete.
This is laughable… People (no doubt them thar “illegals”!) running out with an air conditioner? Those things aren’t exactly lightweight, you know. Please indicate the actual stores that this has happened to and that closed as a result. If this is a “rampant” problem, it shouldn’t be difficult for you to name a dozen…I’ll wait.
Also, what “shredding”? I had to scroll through 19 responses before I reached the first idiot who said, “It’s true!” from the profile named (wait for it): “J6 Patriot News”!
Then, maybe you should learn some navigation skills, along with comprehension. To assist, I’ve updated the post with clear instructions at the end. Beyond that, stop wasting my time.
Here’s one but that’s all I’ll do. I am done with your constant demands for proof and then disregarding it or dismissing it because the author didn’t have the right initials after their name. I’ve seen these stories almost non stop and can’t be responsible for so much flying over your head 24/7/365.
https://www.npr.org/2023/09/28/1202264923/major-retailers-blame-theft-for-their-decision-to-close-locations
Wait, so you post a link to a story from Sept. 2023, but delete my comment with a more recent update (December) that shows those claims were overblown? I’m sorry if the truth is contradicting your preferred narrative of fear, division and American going to hell in a hand basket.
https://www.reuters.com/business/retail-consumer/us-retail-lobbyists-retract-key-claim-organized-retail-crime-2023-12-06/
Nope. I deleted your post because it had nothing to do with the topic. You didn’t learn the comprehension lesson obviously. Where was any claim made about “organized retail crime” accounting for nearly half of all inventory losses? The fact that the article claims it was overblown has no bearing whatsoever. This wasn’t about organized retail crime.
But who am I to administer and apply the posted rules on MY SITE?
The topic was shoplifting, flash mobs and other crimes causing retailers to shut their doors. I provided plenty of information on the topic. It IS happening. Stores HAVE closed. City retail centers are either ghost towns or you need a clerk to unlock the cabinet to purchase toothpaste. And it is ongoing but apparently, you’ve missed it all. AMAZING!
But none of that registers with you does it? You choose to question the date of the article I referenced. I didn’t even look at the date but yeah, 3 months IS telling – especially when they are unrelated topics. I simply selected the first one that came from a source that your narrow mind would read. There are dozens of others but I’m not your personal researcher.
How’s this? Try to stifle the need to discredit the Daily Mail for previous reporting that counters your fantasy and actually READ it.

Walmart, Macy’s, Target, Walgreen’s, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond. Is that thorough enough?
This is where you’ll ignore the video (cuz it’s fake), or what they state as reasons for shutting down and simply say it’s buying trends and they would have closed anyway.
Since you continually demand I provide you links for what most see as obvious, I will state once again you provide NO value here so GO AWAY! Now, I need to waste more time to figure out how to block your IP in WordPress.
Maybe a better method might be to ask your vast FB community if they’ve ever heard of stores closing due to rampant theft. I’ll look forward to seeing the responses to that. I can even do the same from my side and then see what results. Sound like fun?
And, THANK YOU for redefining “laughable”. Any time you get a shovel to dig yourself out from your previous tall tales, you only proceed to dig deeper.
Trump’s entire platform is to create suspicion and fear among Americans and to prey on people’s worst instincts–mistrusting their neighbors, having a scarcity mentality, and seeing the diversity of this country as something to be afraid of. Anger, sarcasm, bullying… THIS is what’s wrong with America, and I’m sad that you–someone who has been blessed in so many ways–are falling for Trump’s Gospel of Fear.
Your own article (Daily Mail, which is also even an older article, btw) cites an increase in organized retail crime as a large component of the increase in theft. Do YOU even bother to read your own sources?
Yes, since the pandemic (that Trump made a complete debacle out of), stores have had trouble finding employees and moved to a lot of manual kiosks–both of which have had an impact on theft. Most people also became much more comfortable shopping online during the pandemic, which has also had an impact on stores. This is all completely related and while it’s something that needs to be addressed, it’s not a crisis at the level that Mr. Fear Mongerer is trying to create.
The fact is, NONE of these articles talk about “500 people” swooping in and brazenly walking out with air conditioners. Not a one. Or anything remotely close… So how do you justify Trump stooping to that level of LYING and GASLIGHTING to put fear into his base? How do you condone and support THAT?
You can ban my IP address, assuming you can figure out how (it’s not that hard… marketers routinely do that so they don’t count their own work as site visits), but you’ll find that I’m your most frequent visitor.
Good luck in the echo chamber…
In summary:
Again, you are hung up on “organized retail crime as a large component of the increase in theft”, and because of that you can dismiss the articles points that:
(updated since the DM article is so dated and you’re a stickler for punctuality)
– Walmart has shut 21 of its stores across 12 states (completely abandoning Portland).
– Walgreens has closed 350 stores since 2020.
– Macy’s closed 173 stores since 2020.
Besides the big box retailers mentioned, there are hundreds of smaller mom & pop businesses closed and the businesses that remain need to put everything behind locked cabinets. But they weren’t due to 500 people stealing ACs so never mind.
Yes, of course ignore the context of the many videos of people carting out big screen TVs, fireplaces and other large items on CARTS and concentrate solely on Trump claiming 500 people all stole air conditioners – which he never said.
“They go to some of these stores, 500 people walk in.. they walk out out with air-conditioners, they strip the whole store. The company goes out of business.” How does that work? Is that they ALL grab air conditioners and then return to strip the whole store or is he expecting them to sling the AC under 1 arm and strip the store with the other? I am so confused.
So your only resolution is documented proof that NO LESS than 500 ACs were pilfered in EACH case. They must be in clearly marked boxes with serial numbers, dates of theft, location and with documented witnesses.
Meanwhile, your preferred candidate can claim he was a teenage civil rights activist, a former trucker, was active in his youth in any community he is speaking to, was the first in his family to go to college, graduate at the top of his class and is the nephew of a cannibalism victim. Or that Trump told people to “inject bleach” or Hunter’s laptop was Russian disinformation – just to name a few. Or better yet, maybe explain what “She know long! She knew suhlongasuhijeruhhnied, our freedom can never be secured!” meant from yesterday’s Junteenth event before we can determine if that was true.

But, like the NYT claims, these are not lies, they’re “personal tales with rhetorical flourishes and factual liberty and just his way of trying to connect to people and be charming”. Or that they are just “exaggerating details” or they’re “autobiographical embellishments.”
Even so, based on your new standard of integrity, I’ll expect the same proof for his embellishments. It shouldn’t be difficult for you to name a dozen. It will keep you busy (and out of my hair) but I’ll wait.
Plenty of people see these exchanges. Unfortunately, most are still in the “get along” camp where only your points are allowed and any contention is stifled to avoid the wrath of your superior intellect. With no marketing experts available to advise me what to do (after 30 years in IT) when my instance of WordPress, controlled by my webhost, has disabled the IP blocking feature, I figured all parameters have been firmly established by now so disabled all further commentary.
But as you say, no one visits here so I am still awaiting your FB poll for clarity.
